      <image:title>Michelle Watkin - Michelle Watkin (M.ScA.P.T., B.Kin, BAS)</image:title>
<image:caption>Registered Physiotherapist With a background in fitness, kinesiology, and physiotherapy, and a passion for pregnancy and childbirth, Michelle was naturally drawn to pelvic health physiotherapy. Michelle began studying pelvic health during her Masters in Physiotherapy at McGill (2017), and has since completed additional courses in pregnancy, pelvic pain (including endometriosis and bladder pain), yoga for pelvic pain, diastasis rectus abdominis, dermoneuromodulation, cesarean birth recovery, pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Michelle’s mission is to support and empower her clients to manage their pelvic health symptoms. She helps her clients determine and address the unique factors contributing to their pain experience (and/or other symptoms), as there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Moreover, she facilitates long-term health by guiding her clients to adopt lifestyle strategies for prevention. Michelle has a special interest in treating persistent pelvic pain, including painful intercourse, and working to create “safety” in the nervous system through “nonthreatening” soft tissue techniques, novel movement, and lifestyle interventions. Science has confirmed a mind-body connection that is an essential part of Michelle’s practice. Understanding pain is the first step to treating it. Michelle is very passionate about helping her pregnant clients prepare their mind and body for childbirth, and she is always grateful to be a part of their perinatal journey. She stays up to date with the evidence on childbirth practices and strives to empower her clients with the knowledge to improve their birth outcomes, have a positive birth experience, and optimize their recovery postpartum. Michelle is also passionate about sharing her knowledge and spreading awareness of this very important emerging field in physiotherapy. Aside from being a pelvic health advocate, Michelle is a mom of two precious boys and loves watching them grow and learn. </image:caption>
